Outdoor Wicker Furniture for Our Patio

I love to spend time outside either relaxing in the fresh air or entertaining friends and family. Now that the weather is glorious, it just feels amazing to be outside enjoying it! I especially love to be outside in the evening…looking at the stars, relaxing, and spending time with my family.

We just completed a beautiful outdoor patio, and have purchased gorgeous, comfortable wicker furniture with thick, cozy furniture. All I can say is wow! What took us so long?

We have purchased a wicker loveseat, some large wicker chairs with ottomans, and a wicker-framed coffee table and end table….just to sit around in. We also purchased an 8-seat patio dining set that we placed next to our open air living room and the outdoor kitchen we recently had installed. We put in an outdoor fireplace, with a grill, cooktop, sink and fridge. It is the perfect setting for outdoor entertaining, or simply enjoying some r&r with just the family!

Summer Time with the Kids and an Ice Cream Maker!

It is now getting towards the end of May and the kids get out of school next week for the summer. I cannot believe how fast this year has flown! The kids have all had a great school year and are bouncing-off-the-walls excited about being out of school for the summer time!

I will be working all summer, as I own a large childcare center and we will be extraordinarily busy this summer. But, I also want to make this a wonderful, fun summer for my own kids. I’d like to find some fun and special activities that we can do together.

One of the things I was thinking of doing is buying an ice cream maker. You know, those electronic machines where you put in the ingredients and it mixes and freezes itself into delicious ice cream! The kids love ice cream and I think they would really enjoy making their own frozen concoctions! (Not the Jimmy Buffet kind!)

Food, Wine, and Entertaining Outdoors

We love to entertain and we love wine! I love to have friends and family over for dinners. We entertain a good bit both indoors and, now that the weather is getting nicer, we love spending time entertaining outside as well! And while food and drink go hand in hand, we truly look forward to our evenings for great friends, foods, and wines.

We have recently put in an outdoor kitchen and have created an outdoor patio with cobble stone, a full kitchen that includes the grill and cook top, refrigerator, and sink. We even installed a wine fridge to keep our wine chilled at just the right temperature. We have our kitchen set up right next to the beautiful waterfall we installed several years ago. Coupled with new, comfy outdoor dining and lounging furniture, we are ready to go! Can’t wait for our next “event!”

Going to check out Vinotemp wine coolers and a dual zone wine refrigerator.

And maybe next year….we put in a pool to top it all off! Or add an electric fireplace entertainment center!

Toy Boxes for the Kids

With three children, my house is always a complete mess. Nobody lifts a finger to help clean up after themselves, at all. I guess it’s my fault in that I have let this go on for much too long. But I have had it, and from now on, will expect some basic chores from my kids, including doing what they should have been doing all along…cleaning up after themselves. That means making their beds in the mornings, cleaning up their toys and junk, putting their folded clothes into their drawers, picking up their dishes after meals, cleaning their bathrooms, etc. I am a working mom with three kids and can no longer do it all!

To help keep each of the kids organized and to give them a new place to store their toys and “stuff”, I have decided that they each need a toy box and have been shopping for toy boxes for each of their rooms. Researching online has made me realize that there are a ton of choices, rather than just the few I have seen at Target or Walmart. And much nicer choices online, too! Can’t wait to have them delivered so the kiddos can get to work!

Spending Time Together After Chess

Pat told her husband that she needed his help on writing her resume. He said that he would help her after he was done sorting out his new chess sets. He is a major chess enthusiast, but he does not allow it to consume his life. He keeps his priorities in order. He takes care of the things that need to be taken care of, and he spends adequate time with his family. He also loves his wife dearly. He gives her the sun, the moon, and the stars, as well as the rest of the world.

Well, he did finish organizing his chess sets and shortly after he did, he came into his wife’s office and helped her on her resume. After the two of them did that, they had a good lunch and took a walk together to the local corner store to get some pop to drink. They liked their little walk because it was a chance for them to spend time together and get some fresh air.

Check out a marble chess set or a wooden chess set!

A Toddler Bed from Mike

Mike has been unemployed for a while; accept he has been lazy and living on his parents’ inheritance. He has been kind of a glutton, too. He spends his money loosely, having no care in the world at all. I ask him when he is going to get a job, and he tells me that he is not thinking about getting a job. He tells me that a job is the furthest thing from his mind. He says that he does not want to talk about getting a job because it is a very stupid subject.

Since Mike has all of this money to spend, I feel like asking him if he can help me to get things for my son. My son is in need of new clothes, a toddler bed, and at least another year’s supply of diapers. Sure, I can get these things myself. But if you know someone who is willing to throw away money, why not take advantage of it? That is the way I am thinking, anyhow. If he does not care, then I do not care.
